A Thrilling Performance

for Dairy Arts Center

Much-needed renovations have been completed for the old Watts-Hardy Dairy building, which has housed the Dairy Arts Center since 1992. Vermilion was brought in to evolve the brand and develop a comprehensive signage and wayfinding program for the building. Working closely with Sopher Sparn Architects, we created an interior color palette and dimensional signs for the entrance, various galleries, performance spaces, and rehearsal rooms. The new identity shows up on everything from tickets and business cards to emails, web graphics, and marketing collateral, including the new Annual Report.

Get Inspired.

This year’s Annual Report tells the exciting story in numbers and images of one of Boulder’s most important community assets. Celebrating its 25th year, the Dairy Arts Center provides space for the visual, musical, and performing arts, classrooms and rehearsal spaces for arts organizations, and a significant new meeting space for community events.

Refined Elegance

One of the major goals of the wayfinding and identification signs and interior design was to provide a foundation that highlights the artwork by leveraging refined materials in a robust, engaging palette. Theater entries were color coded for ticketing using rich dark value colors. Signs remain neutral in anodized aluminum or brushed stainless steel finishes and painted black, cool and warm grays.
