For more than 20 years, the Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF) has lit up Colorado’s arts scene, drawing passionate film lovers from the Boulder–Denver metro area and beyond. As Boulder approaches a cultural turning point with Sundance set to arrive in 2027, the city is stepping onto a larger stage, and BIFF is ready to meet the moment.
While other festivals grow louder and more industry-driven, we’re guiding BIFF to lean into what sets it apart: a more personal, connected experience. It is not just about watching films. It is about meeting people, sparking conversation, and taking action. BIFF is not just hosted in Boulder, it’s an experience that belongs to the community it reflects.
As BIFF’s pro-bono Gold partner for the past decade, Vermilion has helped expand the festival’s reach, elevate its profile, and turn cinephiles into loyal festival attendees and ticket buyers. The partnership began with securing and managing a Google Ads Grant, unlocking more than $2M in free search advertising since 2014. Each season, we lead a full-funnel media and messaging strategy, combining Google Search with targeted Meta campaigns to drive awareness, filmmaker submissions, website traffic, and ticket sales and passes.
