Boulder-based branding and marketing agency Vermilion wins awards at the One Club Awards Denver, plus recognition from Indie Agency News.

Any day that we get to be creative with clients doing good in the world is a win in our books—but recently Vermilion’s clocked a few more official wins. It’s true: we’re an award-winning agency! If this reads as us tooting our own horns… consider ‘em humbly tooted.

The One Club for Creativity

One Club is home to some of the most celebrated accolades in the industry. And something we really love about The One Club Awards is that their entry fees go to support initiatives in Inclusion & Diversity, Creative Development, and Education.

The One Club Awards Denver has been the Rocky Mountain region’s biggest stage for advertising, design, and marketing excellence for more than 60 years—with lots of our local agency friends among its past winners.

Welcome to Chautauqua Brochure | SILVER: Promotional/Collateral Items

Since 1898, only Chautauqua has brought people right to the foot of Colorado’s iconic Flatiron mountains. It’s a little village that distills Boulder’s community spirit—part small-town charm, part culture spark—all tucked into 26 acres.

Chautauqua is soooo much more than a trailhead. (Most locals don’t even know the on-site cottages and lodges exist!) The brand needed a new visitors’ brochure that invites people to see beyond the parking lot and capture both the impressive amenities AND creative possibilities that can’t be passed up. And to support increased visitors, bookings, and ticket sales of course.

Inspired by both the landmark’s rich history and made-for-now experiences and amenities, our Silver-awarded piece takes a collage-style approach that puts Chautauqua’s one-of-a-kind village together in a polished yet hand-done way. And(!) it unfolds with purpose. Each unfold is designed to bring you deeper into Chautauqua, ending with a 24″ tall poster that (we think) is worthy of a wall hang.

Rocky Mountain Equality Rebrand | BRONZE: Branding/Identity System

Rocky Mountain Equality (formerly known as Out Boulder County) has long been a pillar of advocacy and representation for the LGBTQ+ community in Colorado. And they were ready to define their next bold chapter through a rebrand that would clearly communicate their growing regional scope of influence (well beyond Boulder County) and their superpower: breaking down barriers that prevent LGBTQ+ people from reaching their full quality of life.

We refreshed their positioning and crafted a new name, logo, and brand system under the new platform, Out Bolder, which is both a nod to the previous name and a commitment to the future. The Bronze-awarded brand feels at-home in the category but uncovers a more current way to express the pride flag—an iconic symbol of identity, unity, and visibility for the LGBTQ+ community and allies. Confident, bold, and joyful, RMEQ is now a force that’s ready to show up wherever they’re needed, whether that’s in the community or the state capitol.

Ad Club Colorado – The Fifty

Founded in 1891 as the country’s very first advertising club, The Ad Club Colorado uplifts and connects our home-state marketing and advertising community. Their signature annual award, The Fifty, recognizes the top 50 breakthrough advertising and marketing ideas created in Colorado.

Rocky Mountain Equality Rebrand

Yep, it’s RMEQ again — and we’re so honored to be seeing double on this one. Our rebrand for RMEQ hit Ad Club Colorado’s The Fifty list for 2025. Seeing this project recognized alongside other standout Colorado ideas feels like a big high-five to the teams who poured their hearts, brains, and lived experience into it, from RMEQ’s staff and community to our small-but-mighty crew.

Indie Agency News “Top 40: Weirdos, Misfits + Underdogs”

Indie Agency News is on a mission to give independent creative agencies the visibility, community, and celebration they deserve. And their inaugural Top 40 Weirdos, Misfits + Underdogs awards celebrate indie agencies and people who proudly wear their unique style as a badge of honor—approaching business, creativity, and culture from refreshingly different perspectives. Right on.

We’re honored to have earned a merit “Underdog” recognition on this list of folks who don’t get talked about enough: agencies and creatives committed to pushing boundaries and shirking what’s boring.

Our entry focused on who we are, how we treat each other, and our philosophy of using play as a business tool. Because while the business of the business is serious business, we can only really (like, reaaaaally) solve our clients’ problems when everybody feels truly free with each other. And we can only truly work as a team when we lead from a place of answering to our morals and doing the right thing on behalf of our people.

Colorado Business Committee for the Arts Business for the Arts Awards

Forty years young, the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) forges partnerships between business and the arts that advance Colorado’s creative economy. Every year, they celebrate companies and individuals that have shown exceptional support for Colorado’s arts and creative industries through business partnerships, philanthropy, engagement, and leadership. (Spoiler: that’s us!)

Arts & Business Partnership Award Winner

Since our founding in 1980, we’ve used our integrated agency expertise to serve as a bridge between local art, business, and community vitality. Because we know the invaluable role art plays in strengthening connections and meeting communities’ evolving needs in an increasingly fragmented world. We’re honored to be recognized for our work partnering with Colorado organizations that innovate, advocate, and inspire through the arts—from supporting integrated health to deepening Colorado’s reputation as a world-class creative hub and beyond.

Our team will always be dedicated to doing this work with and for our neighbors. Because at the end of the day, we know championing the arts and creativity isn’t just fun. The arts are an invaluable community pillar core to Colorado’s economic and cultural well-being. And we’ll keep playing our part in keeping that creative fire burning for another forty years (and another forty after that).

It’s not that we do it for the glory. But the glory does feel glorious! Check out more of our work here (they’re all award-winners in our hearts).
