How does Vermilion stay connected with remote work?

One small way this Boulder, Colorado creative agency engages our Vermilion employees in a remote work culture.

Even though we’re “based” in Boulder, Colorado, Vermilion has been a 100% remote creative agency since the start of 2024. It’s great for the reasons you read about and experience. There are also challenges for the reasons you read about and experience.

With our team tip-tapping at each other through our keyboards and hopping on “a quick Slack huddle” on the daily, Vermilion’s always looking for ways—big, small, one-on-one, and agency-wide—to keep our team feeling connected to and inspired by each other. (Goofy Google Meet filters don’t always do the full job, you know?)

We prioritize planned in-person time together, from hikes and picnics to co-working meetups and book clubs. But what about the in-between times when nothing’s on the calendar and it feels like folks need something more than a random Slack poll about the most superior ice cream truck ice cream?

In the spirit of shared creativity and long sunny days, we put together our second-annual Vermilion Summer Mix: a playlist with each team member’s top two most-played summer bangers. A compilation of what we’ve got on repeat.

Because while there’s a time and place for Spotify’s AI-generated “2025 Summer Vibes” mix, we love the personal touch of getting an earful of what our work-friends are listening to. It’s fun to picture everyone on the team tuning into the same playlist, even as our creativity happens in different rooms scattered along the Front Range (and Eau Claire, WI—👋 Sam!)

Here’s what we’re queuing up:
